Product Highlights:
ACS Smartcard/ Fingerprint Readers for convenient and secure authentication

The AET60 (BioCARDKey) and AET63 (BioTRUSTKey) devices introduced in this newsletter are by no means our new products. They are now well proven products launched in 2003 and 2004 respectively. What is exciting to us is that in the last 12 months or so, the demand of such finger print devices has increased substantially. Many companies have adopted these products in a big variety of applications. However, many emerging application providers asked us their first question: What are the differences between AET60 and AET63? Hence this newsletter focuses on answering this question.

Having a smart card reader with a silicon fingerprint sensor, both AET60 and AET63 not only bring conveniences but also security to users. First, with anyone of the devices, the users need not remember any long and complicated password since fingerprints, which cannot be lost, duplicated, stolen or forgotten, already serve as a safe and unique password. Second, their fingerprint templates are stored inside their smart cards instead of the PC. This eliminates their privacy concerns. What is more, it gives users the flexibility of being able to carry their fingerprint template with them, safe in the knowledge that no-one else can use their smart card should it be lost or stolen.

AET60 BioCARDKey

AET60 BioCARDKey

AET60 BioCARDKey is an ideal and secure solution for a broad range of internet applications, including e-business, network access and home banking. Using the two-factor authentication, AET60 replaces your Personal Identification Number with an encrypted fingerprint template that can be stored in your smart card or in your bank's server. No need to remember complicated passwords that are prone to hacking. Just press your finger on the sensor to get authenticated and proceed with your transactions.

AET63 BioTRUSTKey-Smart Card Fingerprint Reader

AET63 BioTRUSTKey

AET63 BioTRUSTKey

AET63 BioTRUSTKey is a match-on-device USB smart card reader with finger print sensor. With a built-in 32-bit CPU, AET63 provides the highest level of security because all biometric algorithm processing can be carried out within the device itself instead of the PC. Nowadays, AET63 is playing an important role in the banking industry. Some large banks are using AET63 for the over-the-counter service, for instance, the approval of large amount transactions as well as micro-loan application and transactions. In both cases, AET63 has been proven as an efficient and reliable device for highly secure identity authentication.

AET60 and AET63 Software Development Kits

Both the AET60 Software Development Kit (AET60 SDK) and AET63 Software Development Kit (AET63 SDK) provide all the resources required for smart card application developments. There are tools and utilities that developers can use to check the status of the device and smart cards. Just like all other ACS Software Development Kits, AET60 SDK and AET63 SDK contains sample codes in Borland Delphi 7, MS Visual Basic 6.0, MS Visual Basic.NET, MS Visual C#, MS Visual C++ 6.0. By using these codes, developers can quickly integrate AET60 and AET63 in their applications even without an in-depth knowledge of biometrics and smart cards!
