We are pleased to report on another successful exhibition, Cartes 2005, held in Paris, France, in November 15-18, 2005. Cartes is the world's premier conference and exhibition for advanced card, biometrics and security technologies. Our exhibition aroused the keen interest of companies in the banking, eBusiness, transportation and insurance sectors.

At ACS's booth, guests witnessed the launching of the newly released products. One of which was the sophisticated ACR88 smart card reader, a handheld and portable smart card reader with LCD and pinpad. It also has add-on features such as a fingerprint sensor or a contacless card reader for the customer to choose. This new device generated a lot of attention and promises to be a popular choice for major deployments worldwide.

Aside from ACS's wide range of serial, USBand PCMCIA smart card readers, other new devices particularly those for contactless applications were displayed. These included the ACR38ET DualKey2, ACR120U contactlessUSB reader, as well as the ACM120S-SM, a compact contactless card reader module for easy integration to other types of equipment.

ACR120 Software Development Kit

The ACR120 Software Development Kit (SDK) enables the effective development of customized applications and systems using Mifare cards, contactless readers, and PCs.

Reflecting ACS expertise in smart card technologies, the ACR120 SDK is a complete package containing all the vital components required for contactless smart card application development.

It is also an ideal training and development tool for those who want to know more about contactless smart card technologies.



The ACR120 is a compact and cost-effective contactless reader and writer. It is developed on the 13.56MHz contactless smart card (RFID) technology, supporting Mifare(Classics, DESFire), ISO 14443 A and B cards. Its proximity operating distance is up to 5 cm.

The operation of ACR120 is extremely easy, quick and convenient. The versatile reader is available with USB interface or Serial interface, which can be easily integrated into the PC environment as well as other systems.

In addition, the ACR120 is also available in module form, which is extremely easy to design-in giving you maximum design and development flexibility. With this module, your desire to have your own casing, logo, color and size can all now materialize.




ACR100 SIMFlash

ACR100 combines the power of a smart card reader and a flash drive. It is designed to access SIM-sized smart cards (Plug-in cards) and to store data or application software. It is ideal for GSM solutions such as GSM management software and VoIP applications, electronic payment systems, home banking, computer/network access and transportation. The first version of ACR100 has built-in 256MB flash.

i) As a Plug-in (SIM-sized) Card Reader, ACR100 is a PC/SC smart card reader. It supports MCU cards with T=0 and T=1 protocols and GSM cards conforming to Spec 11.11.

ii) As a mass storage device, ACR100 is bus powered - no need for additional cable and power supply. The ACR100 is Mass Storage Device Class compatible - no need for additional drivers in win2000 & XP.
