Ltd. is proud to announce the company's receipt of the D'ucoty
Awards Product Innovation Award for Readers (within the South
East Asia Region). The D'ucoty Awards were established by
Frost and Sullivan and CardsNow!Asia to select and recognize individuals
and companies who have demonstrated outstanding performance within
the smart card industry throughout the Asia Pacific region.
On May 18th, 2005, during
a ceremony held at CardEx Asia 2005 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,
ACS was honored with the Product Innovation Award for Readers
(within the South East Asia Region) for "Demonstrating Leadership
in New Product Introduction and Innovation". Directly involved
in the selection process, Ms. Jafizwaty Haji Ishahak, Frost &
Sullivan's smart card and auto ID program leader responsible for
the Asia Pacific region stated, ".looking at their history and
product portfolio, ACS has a strong and stable foundation in the
reader market. Also, ACS has always been at the forefront in terms
of innovation; particularly within the PC-linked reader arena."
The competition was open
to numerous card industry companies who have a business presence
in South East Asia. In order to be part of the selection process,
each competitor needed to show successful "product innovation"
within one or more of the following categories:
readers
terminals
cards
personalization
ACS was successful in dominating the "readers" category. The remaining award winners included Verifone in the "terminals" category, Axalto in the "cards" category and Datacard in the "personalization" category. ACS CEO and visionary, Damais Mak, who accepted the award on behalf of the company, stated, "It's really a honor to receive such a prestigious award especially considering the fact that ACS is the only Asia-based company among the four companies recognized at the event." Mr. Mak further added, ".ever since the company's inception in 1995 by Denny Wong (current ACS Chairman and President), ACS has always kept product innovation our priority and we will continue down that path introducing new and exciting products with high quality and value complimenting our continuous innovation as we meet the ever changing demands of our constantly growing client base now in over eighty countries world wide".
The D'ucoty Awards event was the ideal platform to recognize the excellence and achievements ACS has made within the card industry. Furthermore, ACS achieved its unmatched level of success in the "readers" category by demonstrating its continued efficiency in developing new reader products that provide unique solutions while at the same time address the needs of various current and "future" smart card based applications. These ongoing achievements include integrated solutions involving contact, contactless, and biometric technologies as well as cost-effective portable reading devices.
Among the latest innovative
products to be offered by ACS are the ACR38DT USB smart card reader,
which integrates an embedded antenna to facilitate its use as
a contactless token device with a dual-interface card acceptor,
and the soon-to-be released ACR88 portable smart card reader with
multiple SAM acceptors, dual ISO7816-3 smart card acceptors, and
the availability of optional fingerprint and contactless reader
capabilities.
