Balance readers - A new sample kit
ACS developed a new sample kit containing 2 balance readers together with some sample cards as indicated on the left. The kit can be used as an add-on component to any end-user demonstration involving smart card applications. The balance readers will display information stored in the card and will be a good proof of concept for a variety of applications. ACS supplies custom made balance readers to read different cards and display different contents. New casings can be designed as required by customers.
The ACR80 is a secure PC-linked smart card terminal featuring a 4 by 24 line character dot-matrix liquid crystal display providing up to 122 x 32 pixel graphic image display. It includes a 16 key keypad with 4 function keys, 2 smart card slots and 6 SAM card slots It is ideal for applications such as home-banking and electronic commerce where a simple PC-based smart card reader does not meet your security requirements - such as PIN entry and confirmation of transaction details before signing.

The ACR38 is designed to meet all major international standards like ISO7816, EMV level 1, Microsoft WHQL, USB2.0, PC/SC and more.
