What is the difference among ADT60 BioSIMKey, AET60 BioCARDKey, and AET63 BioTRUSTKey in terms of reader function?

How do I install the ADT60 BioSIMKey, AET60 BioCARDKey, and AET63 BioTRUSTKey series PC/SC or Proprietary drivers to my system in Windows 2000 / XP?

- Using PC/SC driver from ADT60 BioSIMKey / AET60 BioCARDKey SDK CDROM
  1. Insert the ADT60 BioSIMKey / AET60 BioCARDKey SDK CDROM (If CD drive autorun is disabled, browse your CD drive and run ADT60-AET60.exe).
  2. Click "Step 2. Install BioSIMKey/ BioCARDKey Driver" and a driver installer window will pop-up.
  3. Click on the Install button then plug/re-plug your ADT60/AET60 USB reader when asked to do so.
  4. When the Found New Hardware Wizard screen appears, choose "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" and click Next.
  5. Click "Finish".
- Using PC/SC driver from AET63 BioTRUSTKey SDK CDROM
  1. Insert the AET63 BioTRUSTKey SDK CDROM (If CD drive autorun is disabled, browse your CD drive and run AET63SDK.exe).
  2. Click "PC/SC Driver" under Step 2. Install Smart Card Reader Driver, then a driver installer window will pop-up.
  3. Click on the Install button then plug/re-plug your AET63 BioTRUSTKey reader when asked to do so.
  4. When the Found New Hardware Wizard screen appears, choose "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" and click Next.
  5. Click "Finish".

You can connect the ADT60/AET60/AET63 device to your PC anytime after the drivers has been loaded. To connect the ADT60/AET60/AET63 device to your PC, plug in the USB connector into available USB Port.

What is CCID?
CCID stands for Chip/Smart Card Interface Devices. Chip Card Interface Device (CCID) specification is an approach to smart card reader communication and it defines a standard communication protocol for smart card readers that connect to a computer via USB, allowing the same host-side driver to communicate with any CCID-compliant smart card reader.

ACOS sample codes available in the SDK are written in Delphi, C++, Visual Basic, C#, and VB.NET.

What kind of support is available in terms of application development?
ACS provides comprehensive sample codes that demonstrate various commands used to interact with the reader and smart card. Demo programs, as well as additional utility software are also provided, to make application development as easy as possible. All these are available in the SDK CD-ROM. Technical support is also available via email at info@acs.com.hk.

If no smart card application is active, and you insert an MCU card into the reader, and the green LED automatically lights up, then your reader is running on PC/SC driver.

- Using PC/SC driver installation for ADT60 BioSIMKey / AET60 BioCARDKey / AET63 BioTRUSTKey from SDK CDROM
  1. Insert the ADT60 BioSIMKey / AET60 BioCARDKey / AET63 BioTRUSTKey SDK CDROM (If CD drive autorun is disabled, browse your CD drive and run ADT60-AET60.exe/AET63SDK.exe).
  2. Click "Step 2. Install BioSIMKey/ BioCARDKey Driver" ("PC/SC Driver" under Step 2. Install Smart Card Reader Driver for AET63), then a driver installer window will pop-up. Click "Install".
  3. When prompted whether you want to install the drivers, click "Yes". Wait while the PC/SC Driver Installation Wizard prepares the installation. The driver installer will automatically install the Microsoft Smart Card Base Components.
  4. Click "Yes" to accept license agreement. Before clicking the "Reboot" button. Connect the ADT/AET device first into an available USB port. Wait until the New Hardware Found window disappears.
  5. Click on "Reboot" button for the changes to take effect.
